Video still, Notes From Turin, 2020
This video piece is an artist’s journey through Turin – its squares, streets, and monuments – with a mix of architecture, art, and literary references. By coincidence, the artist/filmmaker stayed at Corso Galilelo Ferraris, the same street in Turin where the Italian writer Giorgio De Maria once lived and published his horror/mystery novel „Le venti giornate di Torino“ (The Twenty Days of Turin, 1977). The address became the starting point for city explorations and the novel became the artist’s guide to the city. The film is a search, individually experienced by both the novel’s narrator, a self-declared detective, and the present-day artist.
